Group dental insurance offers a wide range of benefits and a corresponding range of costs. The least expensive is the Dental HMO with a narrow network but on the positive side there is almost no cost other than the monthly premium. Generally, dental insurance providers will have two or three options with PPO; limited network, full network and full network with coverage that includes dental implants, orthodontics and a high annual maximum coverage. Most plans will allow a “rollover” of unused maximum coverage into the following year. While this is a nice feature the goal of the provider is to retain the business since the unused funding would be lost if the group selected another carrier.,
Group vision coverage is very low cost. Most providers will offer a reduced cost for regular eye exams and frames/lenses at a fixed cost or a discount allowance.
