Dental insurance is offered by most employers but can be purchased by individuals. The cost of the insurance is determined by the level of coverage desired and based on the deductible for services provided. Generally, preventative care (cleaning & X-Rays) requires a small copay amount. In some plans preventative care is fully covered and does not require a copay. Basic plans are affordable but have limited coverage for crowns or dental appliances with much higher copay required. Other plans offer greater levels of coverage that may even provide orthodontics or dental implants.
Vision insurance can provide all levels of coverage from a basic plan that covers annual checkups and low cost frames and lenses to high end plans that may cover designer frames, tinting, and contact lenses. Also, an eye exam can help detect general health issues long before other signs become apparent. This means you can more easily manage those issues before they become bigger problems.
